Welcome to the world of colorful and programmable LED signs and dancing lights

Since the time before Sir Thomas Edison introduces the very first light bulb, mankind has long been fascinated with the wonders of lights at night. Man-made light source has had gone a long way since then – streets light uplift the night time essence and makes the whole evening goes grand and amusing.

I was in Tokyo Japan last year (2010), and that must be the place where nighttime seems so fascinating with their display of lights and to know that they are just programmable LED signs, I can’t keep the outburst feeling of happiness as they alight the sidewalks. So this is the reason why I’m inspired in creating this blog about Programmable Lights and LED signs (dancing lights).

So as the first post of this new blog, I would like to take you in depth of what is LED.

According to AffordableLED.com, “LED is short for Light Emitting Diode, a multi-color light source that emits color lights based on the movement of electrons in a semiconductor. Different chemicals produce different colors in LEDs: it can be either infrared or visible.

So that means, LEDs are one of the most common things we see in gadgets such as cameras, digital clocks, television and etc. we usually see them as the light that indicates an action in gadgets whether red or green in most cases.

Another thing about LEDs, Lighted signage creates an additional visual effect which further distinguishes itself from traditional signs, making it a more effective advertising tool. LED has a variety of applications in outdoor signs: from LED display, electronic business signs and custom signs, to channel letter signs, its versatility is indisputable.”
